Nyame & Cowrie Bracelet
Gye Nyame or "Nyame" is known as the African symbol for the recognition of the Supremacy of God, or "God is Almighty".
Gye Nyame is known as one of the Adinkra symbols, which represents popular proverbs, record historical events, and express particular attitudes and behaviors related to the Akan people of Ghana.
Adinkra was originally produced by the Ashanti people, and Adinkra clothes were traditionally made for royalty to wear at religious ceremonies. Overtime they developed a system of symbology, that incorporated their own philosophies to tell stories, and to express their thoughts or feelings, folktales and culture. Each symbol is related to a different Proverb.
In todays time, they are now incorporated in modern Designs, Architecture, Furniture, Pottery, Clothing, Tattoos and Sculptures.
